Music for transverse flute & harpsichord around J.S. Bach

It is not a common thing, that in 18th century musical compositions a keyboard instrument would be treated as equal to a melodic instrument. However, Johann Sebastian Bach managed to highlight in the most unique way, both the harpsichord and the transverse flute, through his sonatas. Consequently following this compositional style, the composers Johann Joachim Quantz and Johann Adolf Scheibe transcribed two unique trio- sonatas specifically for this particular combination of instruments.

The two musicians are dedicated to the historical performance of baroque music, while at the same time they experiment with contemporary music creation. Their collaborations include early music ensembles in the Netherlands and Croatia (Musica Poetica, De Swaen, the Bach Orchestra of the Netherlands, Il Concerto Barocco, Contrasto Armonico) as well as in Greece (Camerata Orchestra of the Friends of Music, Armonia Atenea). Their recording activity includes collaborations with labels such as: DECCA, MDG and Brilliant Classics.
